Una casa se enfría mediante una bomba de calor (refrigerador) eléctrica utilizando el exterior como fuente de temperatura alta. Estime el porcentaje de ahorro de electricidad para diferentes temperaturas exteriores en verano, si la casa se mantiene en 25ºC en lugar de hacerlo a 20ºC. Suponga que la casa gana energía del exterior en forma directamente proporcional a la diferencia de temperatura.

A house is cooled by an electric heat pump using the outside as the high-temperature reservoir. For several different summer outdoor temperatures, estimate the percent saving in electricity if the house is kept at 25°C instead of 20°C. Assume that the house is gaining energy from the outside in direct proportion to the temperature difference Q_L = K (T_H – T_L).
