Análisis numérico, gráfico y analítico. Hallar dos números positivos cuya suma sea 110 y su producto el máximo posible.

a) Completar analíticamente seis filas de una tabla como la adjunta, en la que se muestran dos filas.

b) Usar una calculadora para generar nuevas filas.

c) Expresar el producto P como función de x.

d) Representar en la calculadora la función del apartado c) y estimar la solución a la vista de esa gráfica.

e) Hallar, por las técnicas del Cálculo, el número crítico de la función y encontrar entonces los dos números requeridos.

a) Analitycally complete six rows of a table such as the one below. (The first two rows are shown).

b) Use a graphing utility to generate additional rows of the table. Use the table to estimate the solution. (Hint: Use the table feature of the graphing utility).

c) Write the product P as a function of x.

d) Use a graphing utility to graph the function in part c) and estimate the solution from the graph.

e) Use calculus to find the critical number of the function in part c). Then find the two numbers.
